What to include

  • Mac model, such as Mac mini, Mac Studio, or MacBook model/year.
  • macOS version.
  • Monitor, TV, dock, AV receiver, or USB-C hub model.
  • Connection path: HDMI, DisplayPort, USB-C, Thunderbolt dock, adapter, or TV.
  • Which path worked: native macOS volume, hardware/DDC mode, software mode, or not working yet.
  • Any permission prompt, audio device, or clipping/meter behavior that seemed confusing.

Quick troubleshooting

  • Confirm VolumeBridge is running in the menu bar.
  • Open the setup guide and verify Accessibility if F10/F11/F12 are not captured.
  • If hardware volume does not work, your display or dock path may not expose DDC/CI speaker volume.
  • If software volume is needed, review the System Audio Capture permission prompt and macOS sound output.
  • Try connecting directly to the display or TV to separate monitor behavior from dock/adapter behavior.
